We speak with Blake Bailey, author of a new biography of Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Cheever. Known as the ‘Chekhov of the suburbs,’ Cheever is best known for his short stories about middle-class malaise. Bailey is the author of “Cheever: A Life,” and the editor of two volumes of Cheever’s work. His other books include “A Tragic Honesty: The Life and Work of Richard Yates.”
