La Graduacion is directed by Rafael Gomez.

Rafael Gomez was born in Mazatlan, Mexico where he grew up watching his VHS of the 1998 film Godzilla on repeat (yeah, the one with Mathew Broderick). After moving to the United States at an early age, he attended film school at the University of Arizona where he skipped class regularly to shoot documentaries in northern Mexico. His work and point of view are deeply influenced by his country of origin; admiring the work of filmmakers working in Mexico such as Amat Escalante, Carlos Reygadas, and Michel Franco. Rafael often cries at movies and now lives in Los Angeles where he works as a commercial cinematographer, colorist, and editor.
