sarah shapiroBefore she became a filmmaker, Sarah Gertrude Shapiro worked on a number of reality shows, from High School Reunion to The Bachelor. After making a career change, Shapiro was one of eight women selected for AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women in 2012. While there, she wrote and directed Sequin Raze, inspired by her experiences on The Bachelor.

Shapiro is currently the co-creator, writer, and supervising producer of UnREAL, a Lifetime television series based on her short film.
