Julio O. Ramos

Peruvian filmmaker Julio O. Ramos is a student Emmy, BAFTA and DGA award winner for his films El Bolerito (The Shoe Shiner) and ¡Una Carrerita, Doctor! (A Doctor’s Job), both produced at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and TV.

A Doctor’s Job is Julio’s first narrative project shot in his homeland. Earning numerous awards, it screened in at more than 300 venues worldwide including festivals Telluride, Havana, CFC Worldwide, Palm Springs and Shanghai.

Detras del Espejo (Behind the Mirrors) is Julio’s graduating thesis project at UCLA. It premiered at the 2012 Guadalajara Film Festival and picked up the “best of the fest” award at the 2012 Palm Springs ShortFest. The short film is an excerpt of a feature film that Julio is developing.
