On the Check, Please! staff, this is known jokingly as the episode where “two girls attacked the guy.” It was the first time we had the balance of two women and one male. But it was, hands down, the wildest show we’d shot (minus Brian’s barking on episode two). When I first got on the set and met Jewel and Mel, I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Mel is a comedienne and Jewel a power drummer. What a combo. Then I met Joseph who was articulate but fairly restrained. I thought, “He doesn’t stand a chance with these two femmes fatales!” But, he held his own admirably and the interaction proved ideal. Our show was racy and raucous.
