Kelly Tunstall and Ferris Plock are artists who focus on character design and development, creating a rotating cast of surreal cartoon figures inspired by visual culture, including fashion, skateboarding, Japanese regalia and folklore. They concentrate on the relationships and interactions between their characters in their collaborative artworks created under the name KeFe. Through their work, they balance personal narratives with universal emotion.

Working in animation, illustration, design and art, KeFe’s characters include otherworldly humans and anthropomorphized creatures who support and connect with each other. Though the narrative of each piece is personal and subtle, KeFe builds upon their story with each new painting. In the latest episode of Art School, Tunstall and Plock describe their collaborative productions and explain why teamwork makes the dream work.
