The Wine & Bowties crew hosted a fifth installment of their ongoing Feels party at American Steel Studios in West Oakland on Saturday night, and it’s safe to say that it included its strongest lineup yet. Lil’ B, Georgia Anne Muldrow, DJDS, Chaz Budnick, Moses Sumney and more lit up the stages, while a veritable who’s-who of local artists exhibited work on the warehouse’s walls.

We’ve said it before, but Feels is the party that, well, feels the most like Oakland, connecting fluidly with West Oakland’s long tradition of semi-sanctioned warehouse parties. While the Warriors game played on a giant screen, fans atop a painted van went crazy when the Dubs pulled it out of the bag for an exhilarating comeback win; naturally, Lil’ B opened his headlining set with his now-legendary dis to Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Throughout the night, the place was packed and the vibe was celebratory, consolidating and championing Oakland’s soul, continuously said to be slipping away.

As long as Feels is around, Oakland’s soul will continue to thrive. Photos below.
