Rapper Snoop Dogg’s stage gear was reportedly stolen from an SUV parked in San Francisco Monday night, one day before he began a series of concerts and DJ sets around the Bay Area.
Parked on a San Francisco street with laptops, luggage and other gear inside, law enforcement sources told TMZ that the SUV was robbed clean after someone broke one of the vehicle’s windows.
The reports of Snoop Dogg’s equipment being stolen came out just before his live dates in the Bay Area coinciding with Super Bowl 50. They include shows at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom Tuesday night, followed by the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma on Wednesday and Santa Cruz’s Catalyst Club on Friday. Other scheduled appearances include a party Friday at the W Hotel; Saturday’s “Snooper Bowl” at San Jose City College; and a DJ performance at San Francisco dance club Ruby Skye on Feb. 7. No shows appear to be canceled, according to the venue’s websites.
A rapper with a 35-year career that began with an appearance on the Dr. Dre-penned theme song for the 1992 film Deep Cover, Snoop Dogg has had several hit songs over the years, including 1994’s “Gin and Juice” and 2004’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” He has also appeared in several movies and television shows, and has appeared on songs by pop artists such as Katy Perry and Gorillaz.
