Open now through Nov. 22: ‘My Mañana Comes’ at the Marin Theater Company. Four busboys in a New York City restaurant, the exploitation of undocumented workers, and a discussion of how poor people get criminal records because they can’t afford bail. Still, this new play manages to be funny while tugging at the heartstrings. Details here.

Saturday, Nov. 7: Leon Bridges at the Fillmore. This young singer out of Texas has taken the soul world by storm over the past year, in no small part thanks to a seriously magnetic live show — documented well in his NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Details here.

Saturday, Nov. 7: Cappella SF at Mission Dolores. Ragnar Bohlin has a full-time gig as director for the San Francisco Symphony chorus, but he’s taken on this 24-member side project, which is performing a show about preserving the beauty of nature; works include those by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Veljo Tormis, David Conte, Eric Whitacre and Claudio Monteverdi. Details here.

Sunday, Nov. 8: Tommy Guerrero at Brick & Mortar Music Hall. San Francisco’s own skateboarding guitarist, Tommy Guerrero, will play songs off his new album, Perpetual. Next spring will see him skateboarding on a cruise ship (yes, that’s right) alongside Flogging Molly. Details here.

Tuesday, Nov. 10: DanceFAR at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. This annual fundraiser is something like an all-star game, with members from the San Francisco Ballet, Alonzo King’s Lines, Smuin, Silicon Valley Ballet, LEVYdance, special guests Marcelo Gomes and Stella Abrera, and more. Details here.

Wednesday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day): The Heroes’ Voices Concert at Herbst Theater. This performance to honor and celebrate U.S. veterans features Pete Escovedo and his Latin Jazz Ensemble, as well as the a cappella group Vocal Rush from the Oakland School of the Arts. Details here.
