Friday, Aug. 28: Los Lonely Boys. The three Garza brothers, Henry, Jojo and Ringo, mix a bit of conjunto into brown-eyed soul and blues-rock, perfect for a warm afternoon in the park in San Jose. Details here. 

Saturday, Aug. 29: Bicicletas Por La Paz. A  mix of South American-angled funk, ska, reggae, rock en español and rap — from a band that doubles as a bicycle advocacy and awareness collective. Read more on the California Report here. 

Saturday, Aug. 29: Curious Flights. San Francisco Conservatory of Music graduate Brenden Guy (a terrific clarinetist) curates this four-concert series featuring music that isn’t on everyone’s classical playlist — but should be. Details here. 

Opening Wednesday, Sept. 2: ‘Between Riverside and Crazy.’ Stephen Adly Guirgis’s playwon a Pulitzer Prize last year, and A-C-T opens its season with the first production outside of New York. Details here.
