Hey, are you busy on Sunday? Do you want a free backpack? How about a cool poster designed by a local artist? Maybe you would like to enjoy some live music while getting cozy around a campfire? All of this could happen for you, and all you have to do is RSVP.
Noisey is the music channel of badass media corporation, VICE, and they teamed up with JanSport, the company famous for middle-school backpack fashions, to present free summer concerts. It’s hard to hate on companies that involve local artists in their promotional events.
The final “Bonfire Session” is happening this Sunday, September 30, 2012 on Treasure Island, where San Francisco will be treated to performances by The Dodos, Geographer, and White Fence. As if that wasn’t enough, Father John Misty will make an appearance. Check out his disturbingly cool video starring Aubrey Plaza as a party monster.
Aaron Bo Heimlich created the silkscreen giveaway poster for the event, drawing inspiration from the location. “Treasure Island isn’t really the idyllic getaway that the name implies,” he said, “but it’s much nicer to think of it as one, and the city is always improving it. I also think there’s nothing more Californian than enjoying the sun as it sets over the Pacific.”
