Vice President, Membership
Marianne Petroni serves as KQED’s Vice President of Membership. As one of the largest divisions in KQED, Membership is responsible for half of the annual revenue amassed through direct marketing, as well as digital and on-air fundraising efforts.
Petroni joined KQED in 1987 as an Auction Assistant, supporting KQED’s historical on-air fundraiser. Her contributions helped her move to Membership in May of 1992 as the On-Air Fundraising Supervisor, where she managed all of KQED’s TV and radio drive logistics. Later she assumed the responsibility of Membership Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. Petroni worked as a part of the “triumvirate,” a team that manages all the fundraising activities for Membership, before being promoted to the Associate Director of Membership in 1996. In 1998, she became the Director of Membership, before expanding her responsibilities as the Executive Director of Membership in 2004. She became Vice President of Membership in 2017.
Petroni has a B.A. in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley and a M.A. in Broadcast Communications from SF State.
